Ka-27 - carrier-based helicopter, created for the needs of the Soviet Navy. The main purpose - the fight against enemy submarine fleet.
Work on the creation of the Ka-27 began in 1969 in the Kamov Design Bureau. The new machine was supposed to replace the previous model with similar tasks - the Ka-25 helicopter. The first flight of the prototype was produced in 1973. Production was launched in 1977 (Kumertau, Bashkiria).
