The Great Spotted Woodpecker or the Spotted Woodpecker (Latin: Dendrocopos major) is a species of birds of the order Woodpeckers, woodpeckers, and a kind of spotted woodpeckers.
The modern classification includes 14 subspecies of the great variegated woodpecker, representatives of which differ in body and beak sizes, as well as shades of the basic color of the plumage.
