The white-tailed eagle is the fourth largest bird of prey in Europe, second only to the black vulture, bearded vulture and griffon vulture. Eagles belong to the family Hawk Falcon squad. These birds are called in a different way: serovaten or sea eagle.
The White-tailed Orlan can be found practically throughout Eurasia: it lives in the tundra and in the very north of Scandinavia and on island Japan, but in central Europe the population of these birds is extremely small due to human activity. These birds are considered the native inhabitants of the Baltic states, so the first mentions of these birds were published in the early 19th century. Unfortunately, their population in this area is now very much reduced.
