Hoopoe is a very remarkable representative of the order of hornbills, which can be easily recognized by its long, thin beak, fan-shaped tuft on the head and black-and-white striped wings and tail. In the old hoopoe called pustushku and potatuykoy, and its modern name of the birds received thanks to the published guttural cries of "beats-beats-beats."
