The polar owl (Bubo scandiacus, Nyctea scandiaca in Latin), also known as the white owl - is a bird from the owl family. It is the largest representative of this family and the largest feathered predator of the Arctic Circle.
It should be noted that the females of the polar owl are larger and heavier than the males. The height of the body is: in males - 54-66 cm, females - 60-70 cm. Owls: male - 2.1-2.5 kilograms, females - up to 3 kilograms. Wingspan ranges from 140 to 175 centimeters.
