Each of us is familiar with the daw, although unknowingly, many consider her to be a little crow. Talking, easily tamed birds attracted the attention of people in ancient times. In cultures of different nations, the most impartial traits that gave rise to prejudices were attributed to dawns. Because of the passion of birds for everything brilliant, they were considered greedy and thievish; in England of the 16th century they were ruthlessly exterminated as pests of agriculture.
