The MiG-27 is a third generation fighter-bomber produced by the USSR, created in the early 1970s on the basis of the MiG-23 fighter.
In the late 60s in the USSR there was a need to develop a new strike fighter-bomber, since the existing machines at that time no longer met the new requirements and began to lose in comparison with foreign counterparts. It was decided to create a new vehicle based on the MiG-23 fighter. The project was led by designer Sedov.
